How every game scores a hole

Two teams play each other. On each hole, the app adds the best scores from each team. In a 2 Ball game, that is the two lowest scores on each side. The lower total wins the hole. A tie is a push.

With three or more teams, every team plays every other team, and the app settles each matchup.

Set a hole value and a dot value when you create the game. Each bet pays the hole value. Each dot pays the dot value. The defaults are $5 a hole and $2 a dot.

BigTeamGolf

Some groups call this game the Automatic 2 Down Press.

The front nine and the back nine are separate games. Each nine starts with one bet at zero. When your team wins a hole, every open bet moves one point your way. When you lose a hole, every open bet moves one point the other way. A tied hole changes nothing.

When the newest bet gets two down for one team, the app opens a fresh bet at zero. That is the automatic press.

On the last hole of each nine, there is always an open bet. If the newest bet is one up going into the last hole, the app opens a fresh bet for that hole.

At the end, each bet is won, lost, or a push. Each bet you win pays the hole value.

Get Out

Get Out is BigTeamGolf with one extra rule on the last hole of each nine. For every bet that is already two or more up, the app opens a fresh bet at zero, unless one is open already. The team that is behind gets one chance per locked bet to get out.

Nassau

Three bets: the front nine, the back nine, and the full 18. Each hole you win puts you one up on that bet. Win a nine or the 18 by any margin and you win that bet. A tie is a push.

The margin does not matter. Win the front by one hole or by five and it is still one bet. Nassau needs an 18-hole game.

By the Hole

Every hole is its own bet. At the end, the app takes the holes you won, minus the holes you lost. That number is your bet count. Each one pays the hole value. There are no presses and no fresh bets.

Stroke Play

The app adds each team's best-ball totals over the holes both teams have finished. The difference in strokes is the margin. Each stroke pays the hole value.

Dots

A dot is a bonus a player earns on a hole. Some groups call them trash. The common ones are a birdie, a sandy (up and down from a bunker), and closest to the pin on a par 3. Every club has its own list.

During the round, open your team's scorecard and tap + in the Dots row on the hole where your team earned one. Each dot pays the dot value to every player on the team that earned it. The app counts dots for each team and settles the difference in every matchup.

Skins

Skins run beside any game. Players opt in when they sign up, and the app awards each skin from the hole-by-hole scores once the rounds are in. The pot is split by the number of skins won.

How the money works

The math is per player. Add up the bets and dots a team won, less the ones it lost, at the hole and dot values. Each player on the winning team wins that amount. The app multiplies it by the team size to get the team total, and the other team pays that total, split among its players. The sheet shows both numbers.

After every team has finished, open the game, tap the menu (⋮), then tap View Game Calculation. Pick the game your group plays and the sheet settles every matchup. See the How To guide for the steps.
