BigTeamGolf gives each player a weight from their scores and birdies over their last twenty 18-hole rounds. The formula is proprietary, but the result is one number that shows a player's current form.

When you run teams, BigTeamGolf balances the total weight of each team.

Yes. Set a hole value and a dot value when you create the game. After the round, open Game Calculation. The app settles every matchup from the scores and counts the dots. Bets and dots are worth their values per player. Each player on the winning team wins that amount, the app multiplies it by the team size for the team total, and the other team pays that total, split among its players.

It settles five games: BigTeamGolf, Get Out, Nassau, By the Hole, and Stroke Play. Skins are tracked separately from the same scores. The Games page explains how each one scores.

Two teams of the same size play each other hole by hole. On each hole, add the two best scores from each team. The lower total wins the hole. The front nine and the back nine are separate games.

Each nine starts with one bet at zero. When a team wins a hole, every open bet moves one point their way. A tied hole changes nothing. When the newest bet gets two up, the app opens a fresh bet at zero. Going into the last hole of the nine, if the newest bet is only one up, a fresh bet opens so the last hole can swing it.

At the end, each bet is won, lost, or a push. Each bet pays the hole value to every player on the team that won it. With three or more teams, every team plays every other team, and the app settles all of the matchups.

Get Out is the same game with one extra rule. On the last hole, the team that is behind gets a fresh bet for each bet it has already lost, so it has a chance to get out.

A dot is a bonus a player earns on a hole. Some groups call them trash. The common ones are a birdie, a sandy (up and down from a bunker), and closest to the pin on a par 3. Every club has its own list.

Each dot pays the dot value to every player on the team that earned it. The app counts dots for each team and settles the difference in every matchup.

Yes — Big Team Golf works on Android via our web app at app.bigteamgolf.com. It runs in any browser, and you can add it to your home screen like an app.

To install on Android:

1. Open app.bigteamgolf.com in Chrome
2. Tap the menu (⋮) in the top right
3. Tap Add to Home screen (or Install app)
4. Create your web app account and join your club

The web app has the same features as the iOS app — joining clubs, running teams, and entering hole-by-hole scores. Note: the web app uses a separate subscription from the iOS app. If you want to use both, you'd subscribe to each.

Yes. app.bigteamgolf.com works in any modern browser — Android phones, iPhones, Mac, Windows, or tablets. Both versions share the same clubs, so members on iPhone and members on the web play together in the same group.

One note on accounts: the iOS app and the web app use separate subscriptions — pick whichever works for your device. Your club doesn't care which one you signed up through.

When you create a club, you choose an initial member capacity. If your club grows beyond that limit, you can increase capacity from the admin tab:

• Add 10 members: $1.99 one-time
• Add 50 members: $4.99 one-time

Yes. Every player joins the club with their own account — on iPhone through the App Store, or in any browser at app.bigteamgolf.com. That way everyone sees teams, live scores, and their own stats on their own device.

The Par Tier starts with a 2-week free trial, so your whole group can try it before anyone pays. And at $0.99/month for the Par Tier, it costs less than one lost golf ball.

Yes. The tiers set how many clubs you can join:

• Par Tier ($0.99/mo): 1 club
• Birdie Tier ($1.99/mo): Up to 2 clubs
• Eagle Tier ($2.99/mo): Up to 10 clubs

If you play at multiple courses or are part of different groups, higher tiers let you keep a separate weight for each.

After running teams, you can manually move any player. This is useful when certain players need to be together (like a guest playing with the member who invited them) or apart.

Tip: move a player with a similar weight to keep the teams balanced.

By default, the app makes the fewest teams it can with up to 5 players each. After you run teams, raise the team count so no team has more than 4. The app rebalances on its own.

iOS app — subscriptions are managed through the App Store:

1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone
2. Tap your name at the top
3. Tap Subscriptions
4. Find Big Team Golf and tap Cancel Subscription

Web app — subscriptions are managed through secure billing:

1. Sign in at app.bigteamgolf.com
2. Go to Settings → Subscription → tap Manage Subscription
3. Cancel from the billing portal that opens

Either way, your access continues until the end of your current billing period.

Since Big Team Golf uses average score and birdies per round, course difficulty can skew weights. If your group rotates between courses, consider a separate club for each course with its own player weights.

Yes. When you sign up, the app shows the tee you normally play on that course. Change it if you want to play a different tee that day. As you switch, the app shows your weight for each tee. Tap Confirm sign-up, and the tee you picked becomes your tee for that course until you change it again. Your profile shows your current tee, and an admin can change it for you from the game's roster.

Yes. The app keeps a separate scoring record for each tee you play, and every round counts toward the tee you played it from. Your weight on a tee comes from your rounds on that tee only. When you change tees, your weight changes with it.

If you move to a new tee with no rounds on it, an admin can set your average score and birdies for that tee from the game's roster. We suggest 2 strokes fewer and 1 birdie more when you move up a tee, and 2 strokes more and 1 birdie fewer when you move back. The admin can update it again once you have rounds on the new tee.

If you are new to the app, the first sign-up asks for your scoring average and birdie average, and the app uses those until your rounds take over.

With fewer than 20 rounds entered, each round counts for more, so your weight moves more. It settles as you add rounds.

Yes. Enter 9-hole scores hole by hole. BigTeamGolf doesn't count 9-hole rounds toward your weight.
